Black Panther: Wakanda Forever | 2022
The people of Wakanda fight to protect their home from intervening world powers as they mourn the death of King T'Challa.
Being able to work under
pressure & Flexibility
Humphrey led and produced production updates and status for assigned areas mainly in FX.
He started on FX development and tests at the end of 2021 to finish in October 2022 for 11 months.
He supported the other coordinators when they were away from work or on vacation. He had been in charge of the Environment team for three months helping extend Jabari Land for the city evacuation shots and introduce the new Black Panther for the first time in the Jabari Tribal Council. He was also responsible for Comp and Lighting for two months in the early stage.
He can work overtime as production needs. He continually did a lot of overtime from summer to October due to the shots or sequences schedule and status changes from the client and the tight schedule of the pipeline because of the delay of upstream departments.
Our team completed 439 shots in the final cut of the movie. The main scope of our work was the ocean battle aboard the Royal Sea Leopard and the fight in the desert.

Organization & Teamwork
Humphrey worked with the CG Supervisor, FX lead, and Associate Production Manager who oversaw the management of back-end departments on priorities, flagging deadline and productivity concerns in terms of milestones, inventory, deadline, technical issues to the front-end including Animation, Crowds, and Assets, and identifying solutions to roadblocks.
He took thorough notes and distributed them to the appropriate parties. He ensured that artists receive, understand, and execute VFX supervisor and client notes.
He managed artist assignments and deliveries with accurate data entry in Shotgrid and the production tracking software.
He also maintained organized production and artwork files within specific directory structures.
Communication& interpersonal skills
Humphrey evaluated and learned individual artists' strengths in order to help with task assignments and facilitated the cross-utilization of artist resources.
He created trusting and open relationships with productions. He also facilitated communications across departments and set team meetings.
He directed people both internally and externally to the correct department to get the information that is needed.

Motivation & initiative
Humphrey trained and mentored PAs, production coordinators, and associate production managers across Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Montreal.
He strategized with the CG supervisor and FX lead to identify and prioritize the FX hero shots/tasks, such as water splash, water interaction, Ironheart thruster/blaster, etc, to adequate artists to create a template and simplify the pipeline and workflow so we could get as much FX development done and locked away before the shot work landed.
